Sales like…
To save your prospects, customers, and colleagues time (and money) when they reach your cell phone’s voice mail introduction, record something small (rather than the overused lengthy not available right now blah blah blah) and help them get straight to the tone by hitting your carrier’s particular key for skipping their added voice mail message that follows yours.
"Hi. You’ve reached Benjamin Button’s voice mail. Please leave a message by pressing the star button now."
The keys are…
- Verizon: press the star button (*)
- Sprint: press the number one (1)
- T-Mobile & AT&T: press the pound button (#)
For you… If you know the carrier of the person you’re mission, you can hit the appropriate key the moment their voice mail introduction starts and go straight to the tone.
It’s gorgeous. Pure saleslove.
(If you’re on Sprint, you can delete that added voice mail instruction by accessing your voice mail, hitting 3 for your personal options, then 2 for your salutation, then 3 to remove instructions. On that last step, you’ll have to wait through those instructions until ultimately, you’re agreed the choice to press 2 and then hang up. It should take less than a minute.)
