Dodd Digs In
Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd (D., Conn.) had some tough words for the White House on Tuesday, warning it not to bog down the effort to overhaul financial regulation with any new intricate thoughts.
On Thursday, he had quickly shifted his glare to the banking industry.
He said the effort by the banking industry to kill the legislation ?borders on insulting to the American people.? He also said ?too many people in the industry have chose to invest in an army of lobbyists whose only mission is to kill the common sense? changes.
Sen. Dodd?s ?determined as ever to get this strong bill to the [Senate] floor,? he said.
