Anyone can carry his burden, however hard, until nightfall. Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day. Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down. And this is all life really means. — ~Robert Louis Stevenson

The Third Best Decision I Ever Made

Becoming Self Employed

Best two decisions I ever made: getting married and having kids. Obviously.

Third best choice?

Becoming self employed: setting up my own consulting/coaching business.

Way, way, way yet to be of any other choice.

It’s not just the freedom – though that’s fantastic. It’s not just the money – that’s excellent too.

It’s the control. Deciding what to do with my business and my life, when I want to do it.

Of course, I still have to answer to clients. But I choose who I want to work with, on what issues, in what way.

Being self employed isn’t for all. If you need the certainty of a regular salary cheque or the direction-setting of a boss, it’s probably not for you.

And it’s not always an simple ride. There are many things, looking back, that I wish I’d done differently. Things I know now I wish I’d known then.

If you’re thinking of becoming self employed yourself I can reckon of no better guide to doing it fruitfully – of learning the lessons I had to learn the hard way – than the upcoming FREE “Taking the Plunge” Audio Masterclass Run.

To jump straight to the details and register if you want, click here.

The run is hosted by my friend and expert coach on becoming self-employed, Antoinette Oglethorpe, it brings together 10 chief experts on the key areas that will make your transition to self-employment a success.
